Co-Chair James E. Ford Speaks at ReConnect to Economic Opportunity Forum
Tuesday, October 15, 2019 / 11:30 am - 8:30 pm
Omni Charlotte Hotel (directions)
FACTORS: Child & Family Stability
The potential for workers to advance themselves economically over the course of their work lives is the foundation of what has traditionally been referred to as the “American Dream,” but not everyone has the same opportunities to advance. The October 15, 2019 Emerging Issues Forum, ReCONNECT to Economic Opportunity, will focus on promoting one aspect of mobility: connecting people to higher-paying jobs. The forum will examine ways to connect adult workers to information about sustainable-wage employment, identify accessible education opportunities and promote programs that remove non-academic barriers to, and provide support for, post-secondary education.
Leading on Opportunity Co-Chair James E. Ford will speak about Community Response and how Charlotte-Mecklenburg has mobilized to address systemic barriers to opportunity access and advancement for vulnerable community members in the county.
